Steps to replace the battery in a digital thermometer

Replacing the battery in a digital thermometer is very simple and you can do it with very little effort. Though the process involves using a few tools and some know-how, you’ll have an accurate and operational thermometer in short order. Hangzhou Huaan want show you how step by step.

Collecting the tools and supplies required:

Before you get started, you should make sure you have all the tools and materials you’ll need. You’ll need a small screwdriver, a new battery (make sure you are replacing it with the same size and type of battery as your thermometer uses), and a clean cloth for wiping down the thermometer.

Safely and efficiently remove the old battery:

The battery changeover begins with the removal of the old one. Begin by finding the battery housing on the back of the thermometer. Use a tiny screwdriver to slightly pull out the cover of the compartment. The old battery should be visible as soon as the cover is off. Gently use the screwdriver to wedge it out of place, taking care not to harm the other parts.

Inserting the new battery correctly:

Once you have removed the old battery successfully, it’s time to place the new one in. Take the new battery, make sure it’s facing the correct direction. Most possess instructions for which way the positive of the battery should face, be certain these match up to the positive and negative in the battery bay. Carefully insert the new battery into this space, ensuring it snaps in.

Checking the thermometer for accuracy:

Now that the brand new battery is installed, we’re almost there with testing the thermometer to make sure it is functioning correctly. Switch on the thermometer and leave it to boot up. Verify that the display is showing in the correct information. If everything is well, congratulations, you've replaced the battery. If the thermometer is still unresponsive, verify that the battery has been placed in the correct position, and then try again.

Putting the thermometer back together to use for another time:

After checking the thermometer with the new battery to ensure that it is working correctly, it's time to put it back together so you can use it again. Respecfully screw the  chamberlid back in it's position and check if it's tightened. Polish the thermometer with a soft, dry cloth to clean off fingerprints and debris. Your thermometer is now ready to be used.
